Issues That Matter

Where Wyatt Beaulieu stands on the issues facing ME voters.

Lowering the Cost of Living

Maine families are being squeezed by inflation, high energy costs, and a tax burden that keeps growing. Wyatt will fight to reduce the financial pressure on working households in District 60.

From heating oil to groceries to property taxes, central Maine families are stretched thin. Wyatt supports cutting wasteful state spending, opposing new taxes, and pushing for real property tax relief for homeowners and seniors on fixed incomes. He believes Augusta needs to live within its means just like Maine families do. Wyatt will oppose any legislation that raises the cost of living without a clear, measurable benefit to working Mainers.

Supporting Small Business & Local Economy

Small businesses are the backbone of District 60's economy, and they deserve a representative who will cut red tape, not pile it on. Wyatt will champion a pro-growth environment for Maine entrepreneurs.

Too many Maine small businesses are drowning in regulations, permitting delays, and mandates that large corporations can absorb but local shops cannot. Wyatt will work to streamline state regulations, reduce burdensome licensing requirements, and ensure that Augusta's policies support — not strangle — the businesses that employ our neighbors. He also supports workforce development initiatives that connect local employers with trained workers right here in central Maine.

Parental Rights & Education

Parents, not government bureaucrats, should be the primary decision-makers in their children's education. Wyatt will stand up for transparency in schools and the rights of Maine families.

Wyatt believes every child in District 60 deserves a quality education and that parents have the fundamental right to know what is being taught in their local schools. He supports curriculum transparency, opposes state mandates that undermine parental authority, and will push for education funding policies that prioritize classroom instruction over administrative bloat. He also supports expanding educational options so families can choose the learning environment that best fits their child's needs.

Public Safety & Law Enforcement

Maine communities deserve to feel safe, and the men and women in law enforcement deserve respect and support. Wyatt will back legislation that keeps our neighborhoods secure.

Wyatt firmly supports Maine's law enforcement community and will oppose any effort to defund or weaken local police departments. He believes in tough, consistent consequences for violent crime and will work to ensure that Maine's legal system prioritizes the safety of victims and law-abiding citizens. He also supports Second Amendment rights for Mainers who rely on firearms for hunting, sport, and personal protection.

Energy Independence & Affordable Utilities

Maine's energy costs are among the highest in the nation, and central Maine families are paying the price. Wyatt will push back against energy policies that drive up costs without delivering results.

Wyatt opposes energy mandates that raise electricity and heating costs for District 60 residents and small businesses. He supports an all-of-the-above energy strategy that includes reliable, affordable options rather than forcing a rushed transition that leaves working families behind. He will scrutinize utility rate increases and demand accountability from regulators, ensuring that energy policy reflects the real needs of Maine households rather than ideological agendas.

Government Accountability & Fiscal Responsibility

Augusta needs to be transparent, accountable, and responsible with taxpayer dollars. Wyatt will bring fresh eyes and a common-sense approach to state government.

As a challenger without ties to the political establishment, Wyatt is committed to being a watchdog for District 60 taxpayers. He will push for regular audits of state programs, sunset provisions on government spending, and an end to backroom deals that benefit special interests over Maine citizens. Wyatt believes elected officials should be directly accountable to the people who elected them — not to lobbyists or party leaders — and he will hold himself to that standard every day he serves.
